Health and Safety

At Camp Twin Creeks, your child’s physical safety and emotional wellbeing is our absolute top priority. We are committed to creating a secure and nurturing environment where campers can explore, learn, and grow with confidence. From our staff to our carefully designed programs and facilities, every aspect of our camp is focused on ensuring the all-around well-being of your child throughout their stay.

Health Center

Nurses

Each session we welcome a staff of 2-3 nurses to run our on-site Health Center. Each Camp Nurse works in the field at home, and brings their own children with them while they work their session at camp! We also have a physician on call 24/7, as well as a great relationship with our local Urgent Care and Hospital.

Health Center

Our on-site health center is a standalone facility that offers housing for our nurses as well as any inpatients during the summer sessions. All medication on camp is stored in the health center, and administered by our camp nurses.

Medications

All medication on camp is stored in the health center, and administered by our camp nurses. As you submit your camper’s paperwork ahead of their session, you will indicate any and all details pertaining to their medications. Medications are mostly administered at breakfast, dinner, and bedtime.

ACA Standards

The Standards conducted by the American Camp Association (ACA) is a voluntary process conducted every 5 summers. The aim of the process is to ensure a high quality of safety and well being for the campers that attend summer camps each summer in the USA. Many of the ACA standards provide a benchmark for safety that are greater than federal and state guidelines.

Every 5th summer our Director, Iain McClements, undertakes the standards process to ensure that Camp Twin Creeks provides the safest possible environment for your child.

The ACA standards cover the following areas:

Transportation

Site Management and Food Service

Program Design

Aquatics

Human Resources

Trip and Travel

Health and Wellness

All of us at Camp Twin Creeks feel that the work involved and the self evaluation of the standards process only makes us better, safer and more prepared for each summer.

To learn more about the standards process visit the ACA website.

On Call Mental Health Support

We partner with an on-call certified mental health specialist who is available to help the Camp Twin Creeks staff and leadership to ensure that campers receive proper support throughout the summer. Mental health is a key component of a successful camp experience—if you have questions about how we can support your camper, please get in touch.

Allergies and Restrictions

At Camp Twin Creeks, sharing meals with our camp community in the dining hall is a cherished part of the camp experience. We prioritize the safety and well-being of all our campers, especially when it comes to dietary needs. Our kitchen is well-equipped to accommodate most dietary restrictions, including peanut allergies (we are also dedicated to being a nut-free campus), gluten-free/Celiac, and vegan/vegetarian options. We are committed to ensuring that every camper feels safe and included during mealtime. If you have specific questions or concerns about your camper’s dietary needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
