Our TC Community, and 25th Anniversary Celebrations

The human experience is defined by a universal need for connection. In a world where feelings of isolation are increasingly prevalent, the antidote is simple—community.  And for so many of us, that community is found in a special place, a place where we have always been welcomed with open arms. For us, that place is camp.

Our camp alma mater is a spin on “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. Our version has the lyrics “I wake up each morning, sunshine on my face, look all around me, thank God I have this place.” Those words ring true for us all. This camp, these country roads, and this community have always been there for us. No matter how far we’ve ventured from it, it’s been a constant—a sanctuary of support, love, and belonging. It’s a place that feels like heaven on earth, offering us solace in times of struggle and joy in times of celebration.

In a world that can feel increasingly disconnected, our camp has always been a reminder that true community is a balm for loneliness. It’s not just a place; it’s a feeling that stays with us no matter where we go. It’s the laughter shared around a campfire, the quiet support of a friend, the feeling of knowing that you belong. It’s a space where we can be our truest selves, surrounded by others who understand and appreciate us for who we are.

We have invited our alumni to come home. Let’s walk those country roads again, hand in hand, just like we did so many years ago. Let’s relive the memories that made us feel at home and create new moments to carry with us for another 25 years. The reunion isn’t just about looking back—it’s about looking ahead, too, and continuing to build this incredible legacy of friendship, community, and belonging for the present and future generations.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the places we go. It’s about the people we go there with. Our camp, our country roads, our home—this is where the antidote to loneliness truly lies. Let’s celebrate it together.
